RX-78-5 Gundam G05 Front

reminded me I have some pics of my other Gunpla ready to post, so thought, why not, post one of them now.

This is the fifth version of the cult-classic RX-78-2 Gundam Mobile Suit, built and deployed in MS Gundam Side Story Thorough Bred and piloted by Ford Romfellow. This unit was built as a prototype space combat mobile suit for the Earth Federation deployed in UC 0079 and indeed, it has a lot more vernier thrusters than Amuro Ray's Gundam.

It's armaments include:
-2x head vulcans
-2x beam sabers stored on the top of the main thruster pack
-2x forearm vulcans
-1x Beam Rifle (modified from RX-78-2)
-1X anti-mobile suit gatling gun (conventional ammunition), stored on the back along with the ammo drum
-1x retractable shield (assumebly prototype for RX-178 Gundam Mk-II shield)

So yeah, not to shabby. Also, this is a sister unit to RX-78-4 Gundam G04, which replaces the red accents with blue ones and the gatling gun with a laser cannon. Gonna get that one as well one day XD

This was my first Gunpla. Now it's panell-lined and in slightly worn off condition, so I might one day buy a second one to built it properly knowing what I know today about Gundam building
